The Monster Energy promo rewards were recently announced, and I couldn't help but notice the weapons that have skins would fit perfectly as starting loadout weapons. The AR, Commando, the BR and the new "Sidekick" pistol get a skin. If you haven't seen the promo, here's a link. I couldn't help how perfectly the three rifles fit as primary weapons, with the sidekick fitting as a sidearm. There was something else I noticed, as well.
The three rifles each appear to have their own accessibility to them. The AR, of course, is the easiest to use. The Commando seems to fit a middle ground between the AR and BR. It looks like it can kill with an unshielded headshot, but it appears it's damage output is low. Based on the BR being the primary utility weapon in the past, it looks like it could be considered the competitive standard: it's the hardest to use but has the most damage. While I didn't like the prior implementation of loadouts in the past, Halo 4 did make it so that you could use your favorite primary in any mode. That may be present in Halo 5, and I think this Monster promo could be evidence of this.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I know Infinite is a long ways away, but I'm still itching to see multiplayer footage.
